Learning the foundations of web development to design and code great websites.
In 2017 I left my job at a local SEN college to start building a job search site for people with disabilities. I learnt basic HTML and CSS on W3schools, picking up a little Javascript, MYSQL and PHP on Youtube along the way. What I didn't realise at the time though was how labour intensive it would be getting companies to sign up, plus I just couldn't wrap my head around building a secure login system. I gave up and got another job. But all these years later, that passion for web development is still there. I've enjoyed learning, overcoming challenges and seeing what can be built with some time and effort. Take a look around and feel free to get in touch - Jake
Matt, a London-based photographer, wanted to create a visually appealing and user-friendly online platform to showcase his work and connect with potential clients. To retain creative control over his online presence, Matt opted for WordPress as the foundation for his website.
Following organizational restructuring, I was tasked with revamping this WordPress site. My responsibilities included updating content, implementing custom CSS for a refreshed visual style, updating plugins, and optimizing page load speed by enhancing caching and compressing image files.
Following my successful work on the Langdon College website, the Director of Education recommended my services to Kisahron Noe School. This project presented unique challenges due to the website's foundation on a custom, unsupported theme.
One of my first projects!
Honestly, this one stumped me. Until it didn't! Turns out I was trying to go about things in a complicated way.
A small back step from the more complicated projects. Looks nice though!
Nothing too crazy here.
That's right. Another to-do list... With cookies!
I am new to the professional world of coding so right now my stack is limited. I'd rather start small and focused, learning new languages when they are required.
